PrimeSense/Asus WAVI Xtion brings Motion Control to HTPCs


PrimeSense and Asus have teamed up to develop the WAVI Xtion, a new PC multimedia user interface device for HTPCs. The new WAVI Xtion media center for the PC utilizes ultra-wide band (UWB) wireless technology and PrimeSense 3D sensing solution to provide controller-free interaction experiences in the living room, allowing users to rowse multimedia content, access the Internet and social networks, and enjoy full body interaction in a more user-friendly and natural living room experience.

Asus will also introduce the Xtion PRO, world’s first PC-exclusive 3D sensing professional development solution, which is based on PrimeSense’s technology. It allows software developers to easily create their own gesture-based applications and software.

PrimeSense and Asus will introduce the WAVI Xtion and Xtion PRO at the CES 2011. The Xtion PRO is expected to be released in February 2011 while the WAVI Xtion will come in Q2 2011.
